We offer 30-minute weekly lessons, year round at La Petite Baleen. Once registering for a class, your child will attend the same day and time every week.
Our classes are organized by both age and ability. As a student successfully master’s the skills in each level, a ribbon is awarded.
Baby and Me
Student/Teacher ratio - 6:1
Babies learn breath control, balance, and buoyancy through a series of songs and games. Safety skills including underwater submersions, back floats, and grasping the wall are practiced. Goggles are encouraged and fins are introduced at 12 months of age. One caretaker is required to attend this class.
Toddler and Me
Toddlers learn breath control, balance, and buoyancy as well as propulsion through kicking and paddling. Songs and games are used throughout. Safety skills include underwater submersions, back floats, and climbing out at the wall. Goggle and fins are encouraged.
Available to students 30 months and older. Students may enjoy a lower student/teacher ratio of 2:1 and continue to work on their ribbon levels. Ideal for twins and siblings of similar ribbon level.
Available for students ages 2 months and older where they can receive 1 on 1 attention moving at their own pace.
Advanced Swim is a one hour-long class offered to Gold Ribbon swimmers who are between the ages of 6-10 years old. The focus of this class is to build endurance, and learn pacing and racing techniques in a non-competitive environment. Swimmers learn skills such as flip-turns, medleys, relays and pre-swim team concepts. Advanced swim is available at all locations.
