“I cannot adequately describe how impressed we are with the whole La Petite Team. The tools given to each employee allow LPB to provide nothing short of a stellar experience for each swimmer and their parents. Our son come in with trepidation, and now has grown into a passionate swimmer. He looks forward to each LPB day! We are grateful for the many areas he has gained improvements due to what he has learned at La Petite. From discipline to strokes, we are as committed to this system as they are to his growth and success. Not only does our son have excellent swim skills, be we have also made lifelong friends with others enrolled in lessons. Thank you La Petite Baleen!”

“La Petite Baleen is a very clean facility, outfitted efficiently with very professional people working here, at all levels of teaching, supervising and administration. Everyone at La Petite Baleen is very safety conscious and the positive attitude coming from the staff is passed right on down to the children. The drive over the hill from San Mateo to Half Moon Bay is well worth it. We recommend La Petite Baleen to any responsible parent.”

“I have two children who have been swimming at La Petite Baleen for about a year and a half. I am an elementary school teacher who has been trained to observe and coach teachers. I have also had extensive training in elements of effective instruction, regardless of the skill being taught.

I am very impressed with the teaching methods that are the core of swim lessons at La Petite Baleen. The teachers observe students and make individualized goals and plans for them. The teachers breakdown each goal and layer the skills each child has mastered, using this as a bridge to the mastery of a new skill. Students are supported in their skill development and confidence with judicious use of fins and floatation devices as needed. These support tools are gradually removed as the child progresses to independence.

Children have fun at La Petite Baleen as they become better swimmers, but they also develop habits of self discipline and persistence as their hard work and progress is recognized through ribbon awards at each level of achievement.”
